Why do you run?
I run to race. But running is a lot more to me than just that. Growing up in Colorado, I always ran through the mountains. It was a way to roam free through the forests with my dog and explore the wilderness with my friends.

What’s your favorite running fuel?
My favorite prerace fuel is blueberry oatmeal from Trader Joes. During long runs nothing compares to Lava Gel! Mocha flavor. Post race I go straight for chocolate milk.

What’s different about the Malibu International Marathon?
I've run races all over the world and there are many amazing events. Malibu is special because of its geographical beauty, the weather is perfect and the Pacific is magic. Beauty aside, it’s the personal touches of a race organized by runners who are passionate about the sport. We appreciate every individual who donates their time and money, and we’re honored to be a good host in a place we love.
